Oakland Raiders to be blacked out on local TV again

All four of Oakland's home games this season have failed to sell out before the 72-hour deadline. A Raiders regular-season home game has not been televised locally since the opener last season, a string of 11 games.

The news comes on the heels of coach Tom Cable making a huge push for fans to get behind the Raiders at a time when it's not uncommon for more seats at the Coliseum to go empty than filled at home games.

"Raider Nation, hear me," Cable said after Sunday's 59-14 victory over the Denver Broncos. "I hope you get this. We need you in those stands supporting us. We need to have a great 12th man from here on in, because we're doing our part and it's coming together."

# Defensive coordinator John Marshall said during practice last Friday that he wanted "strips" and "as many interceptions as we can get."

On Sunday, the Raiders intercepted Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton's first pass and forced a fumble on the Broncos' first run play. Cornerback Chris Johnson returned the interception for a touchdown.

The Raiders scored another touchdown three plays after rookie defensive end Lamarr Houston recovered the fumble. A fumble recovery by strong safety Tyvon Branch midway through the second quarter set up yet another Raiders touchdown.

# Raiders recorded only eight turnovers -- two interceptions, six fumbles -- in their first six games.

# Quarterbacks Jason Campbell and Kyle Boller took reps with the first-team offense, while regular starter Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) was limited to light throwing off to the side. Cable said he will name his starter for Sunday's game today.

# Center Samson Satele and defensive end Matt Shaughnessy were back at practice after they passed the required tests for players who suffer concussions. Johnson also suffered a concussion against the Broncos, but he has yet to pass the tests.

Wide receiver Louis Murphy (chest) will not play Sunday, Cable said. He was hurt in a collision with fullback Marcel Reece against the Broncos. Rookie Jacoby Ford said he has been told that he will make his first NFL start, opposite Darrius Heyward-Bey.
