Porter, Bugg Kick Off Senior Bowl Festivities

Senior Bowl week is underway in Mobile, Ala., and Hoosier cornerback Tray Porter and long snapper Tim Bugg are busy preparing for Saturday's game. The duo will play on the North squad, led by Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CST at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and the game will be televised on the NFL Network. The rest of the week leading up to the contest will feature practices, receptions and more off-field events and activities. For more information on the 59th annual Under Armour Senior Bowl.

A 2007 team captain, All-Big Ten selection and Rivals.com All-Big Ten honoree, Porter etched his name into the Hoosier record book this season. He finished the 2007 season with a team-high six interceptions and tied for third on IU's single-season list with his career-high six picks - the first Hoosier since Mark Sutor in 1982 to reach the six-interception mark. Porter also finished second on the school's career interception list with 16 picks, trailing only Tim Wilbur's 19. He does hold the top spot on the career interception return yardage list with 413 yards, breaking Wilbur's mark of 360.

Bugg was a pivotal part of the IU's special teams unit in 2007, serving as the team's long snapper on punts, field goals and extra points. The Hoosiers converted all 49 extra point attempts and 21-of-23 field goals on the season. He also served as Indiana's long snapper the entire 2006 campaign and the first six games of the 2005 season.

Senior Bowl practices are also attended by over 800 general managers, head coaches, assistant coaches, scouts and other front office personnel from the 32 National Football League teams, making Mobile and the Senior Bowl the week-long host to a one-of-a-kind NFL Coaches Convention.
