Passing offense: JaMarcus Russell completed a high percentage of his passes and looked sharper than he did the previous two games. He avoided turnovers but was sacked four times. Grade: C+
# Running offense: Justin Fargas and Darren McFadden struggled to make decent yardage on most of their carries. So much for a successful return to a run-oriented attack. Grade: D+
# Passing defense: The Raiders sacked Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington three times. Jay Richardson's sack resulted in a safety. However, Pennington completed a high percentage of his passes, including one on fourth down that kept alive the drive that ended with a game-deciding field goal. Grade: C-
# Running defense: Ted Ginn Jr. scored on a 40-yard end-around on a play in which he eluded at least three tackles. The Dolphins ran almost at will against an overmatched Raiders defense. The Dolphins amassed 222 yards on 35 carries. Chris Johnson forced a fumble deep in Raiders territory that Gibril Wilson recovered. Grade: F
# Special Teams: Johnnie Lee Higgins returned a fourth-quarter punt 93 yards for a touchdown that erased a 14-8 deficit. Sebastian Janikowski missed a 46-yard field goal attempt that would have given the Raiders a second-half lead. Justin Miller performed well in his Raiders debut as the kick returner. Shane Lechler punted well. Grade: C-
# Coaching: Lane Kiffin, Greg Knapp, Tom Cable. No one seems to know what makes the offense tick. Defense and special teams played well enough for the Raiders to escape with an improbable victory. Grade: C
